The CAD CAM technology is used to create porcelain restorations (crowns, inlays/onlays) in a single appointment to restore damaged teeth. At Molars Dental Clinics, we offer porcelain veneers restorations in a single visit. Why go to the dentist a second time if you don’t have to?
About Intra CAD CAM System
The CAD CAM technology is used to create porcelain restorations (crowns, inlays/onlays) in a single appointment to restore damaged teeth. Teeth with extensive cavities cannot be successfully restored using composites, and even if restored, it will not last for a long time. The solution is Porcelain Restorations. In the early days, dentists had to take an impression of the damaged tooth and send it to a dental lab and wait for a week to receive the ceramic crown or restoration. In the meantime, the patient would be given a temporary restoration. Now, porcelain restoration can be made in the clinic on the same day.

How It Works
This cutting-edge tool has a very high-resolution scanner, which we use to scan the damaged tooth surface. Using high-end software, the dentist designs the porcelain restoration to replace or crown the damaged area, mimicking a perfect tooth anatomy. The dentist chooses the shade of the ceramic block to match the natural color of your teeth. This scanned design is then sent to a milling unit located in the clinic, which then mills the final restoration to the precise specifications. Once the porcelain restoration is complete, it is then bonded to your tooth.
The Advantages
- Same day restorations can be done in most cases.
- No temporary crowns or restorations that can break and cause discomfort.
- Your time is saved as you have fewer visits to the dentists.
- Longevity of the porcelain is much higher than composite to restore large cavities.
- Porcelain inlays mimic teeth structure more closely and do not stain as easily as composite
